The huntress (Rogue) as a class for Diablo 4 was introduced by Blizzard. During BlizzCon 2021, they introduced the new character and first glimpses of the attacks and abilities.

What can the Rogue do in Diablo 4?

  • The Huntress (Rogue in English) is the fourth character that Blizzard introduced for the new Diablo 4. You play her with the primary skill value. Veterans of the Diablo franchise already know the Rogue from Diablo 1, but they're making changes here that should appeal to fans of Assassins and Demon Hunters as well.

  • The hunter is fast and mobile

  • You play in melee and ranged combat

  • Poisons play an important role in the damage

  • There is no genderlock - you can create both female and male hunters

  • Slayer in Diablo 4: All info about abilities

This is how the huntress plays: Blizzard gave an overview of the characteristics and a few abilities of the new class of Diablo 4. In general, all classes are to remain in the core as you already know them from the franchise. But the play styles have been partly revised and modernized.

The huntress is introduced as a "fast, mobile and deadly" class. She is supposed to bring an incomparable versatility to the fights. This works in both close-range and long-range combat. Stabbing, shooting and catching enemies in traps are among the uses in combat.

For even more strength, slayers rely on poisons, shadow magic and special techniques, Blizzard explains.

What weapons do hunters carry? At the current stage of development, hunters carry a bow, crossbow, daggers or swords. You can equip 2 melee weapons and 1 ranged weapon at the same time to take advantage of hybrid playstyles. Carrying two more melee weapons to ranged weapon is strong to equip two more legendary items.

This is what makes the Huntress special: Hunter players can choose from three specializations, which you can change over and over again. There is a cost associated with switching. How high these costs are is not yet clear and will be determined later. The specializations are unlocked through quests.

The 3 specializations are:

Combo Points - Give another resource. The normal resource is already replenishing quickly. You know this style of play with combo points from Assassins from D2, or from WoW or HotS. This is where the well-known system comes into play: points are built up with builders and points are used up with donors. The more combo points you build up, the more powerful the consumers become. This playstyle with combo points also exists in ranged combat.

Exploit Weakness - Your reflexes will be tested here. In the fight with opponents you will find weak points that become visible. If you can switch to these quickly, you'll deal a lot more damage to enemies. True to the motto "High Skill, High Reward". If you often miss the mark, you should choose a different specialization.

Shadow Roam - Plays almost like stealth. You disappear into the “Shadow Roam”. A few opponents can enter this roam, but only a few. This is useful for repositioning yourself in or before combat.

With the ability "Imbue Weapon" you can strengthen your weapons. Choose Frost for more CC, Poison for extra DoT damage, or Shadow for more area damage.

These skills are well known: By introducing the slayer, we already know the following attacks:

Ice Barrage (Frost)

Forceful Arrow (Poison)

crow's feet

Rain of Arrows (Shadow)

What attributes do hunters rely on? So far it is known that the intelligence value in a hunter favors critical hits. However, this is currently still being tested and has not yet been set in stone for the release.

Who is the Slayer made for?

Those who already loved the huntress in Diablo 1 can feed their nostalgic feelings in the latest part of the franchise. But according to Blizzard, demon hunter and assassin players should also recognize some tricks.

What do we already know about Diablo 4?

When is release? The Diablo 4 release date has not yet been announced. What we do know for sure, though, is that Diablo 4 won't be released in 2021. Blizzard announced this themselves.

What classes are there at release? It was announced that there should be five classes that you can play right after the release of Diablo 4. Were presented so far druid, barbarian and the sorceress. The huntress is new.

How do items work? Diablo has always focused on farming special items. However, the legendary pieces of equipment are changed in Diablo IV.

These will no longer have static affixes, but random ones. The "Uniques", the one-of-a-kind items, are also making a return. They have 4 legendary affixes and are said to be the strongest and rarest items in Diablo 4. Find out here how Diablo 4 changes the legendary items.

This is what builds bring: The items should support your playstyle, but not define it. There should be great freedom for the players in the builds. The skill system in Diablo 4 should allow complex builds. But the skill trees come back, in which you can distribute points. You can use skills actively or put them in the enchantment slot, which then uses the ability differently.
