A few years ago, I visited a Nasha Mukti Kendra, or rehabilitation center, for a family member struggling with addiction. Up until that point, my knowledge of these places was limited to stories from movies or hearsay. Walking through those gates, I felt a wave of emotions—fear, uncertainty, and a faint hope that things might change.
